Problem

AdGuard Home groups IPv4 clients by /24 and silently drops requests above 20 queries per second. A concurrent probe completed 19 of 100 lookups through AdGuard, while Cloudflare completed all 100.

Change

  • Disable rate limiting for the private DNS resolver.
  • Remove rate-limit subnet and allow-list settings that have no effect when rate limiting is disabled.

Verification

  • nix run .#fix
  • nix build .#nixosConfigurations.pikachu.config.system.build.toplevel --no-link

fix(adguard): disable DNS request rate limit 8756bc087f 
The private resolver grouped clients by IPv4 /24 and silently dropped requests above 20 queries per second. Disable the public-server protection so internal DNS bursts complete.
